Weapon Setup
Our main weapon is the iconic Greatsword +25, infused with the Savage Lion’s Claw Ash of War on the Blood affinity. This combination brings monstrous damage and incredible motion values that make every jump attack hit like a truck.
In our offhand, we equip Freya’s Greatsword. It doesn’t need to be upgraded — its purpose is simply to boost the power of Savage Lion’s Claw by 10%. You’ll barely even notice it’s there, but the bonus damage it provides is significant.
Seal and Backup Weapon
Any seal will work for buffing spells. In addition, we use any weapon with the Quickstep or Bloodhound Step Ash of War to help dodge extremely tricky attacks if needed. Mastery of dodging makes this build even stronger, especially in DLC content!
Armor Choice
For aesthetics and performance, the Knight’s Cavalry set is our main armor. It looks fantastic and provides very solid defense for long battles. However, if you’re a pure damage addict, swapping to three pieces of the Ragasa’s set and the White Mask boosts your damage output by a whopping 16%!
Best Talismans
- Shard of Alexander – Boosts skill damage significantly.
- Lord of Blood’s Exultation – Grants bonus attack power when bleeding occurs, which will happen often!
- Two-Handed Sword Talisman – Enhances two-handed attack damage.
- Flexible slot – Choose between Vidian Amber Medallion +3 for more stamina, Radagon’s Scarseal for extra AR, or Blade of Mercy against multi-phase bosses.
Flask of Wondrous Physick Setup
We use the Bloodsucking Cracked Tear for boosted bleed and the Strength-knot Crystal Tear for max strength damage. Alternatively, swapping to the Stonebarb Cracked Tear is fantastic for easier boss staggers.
Buffs and Consumables
Since this build is pure physical damage, the best body buff is Bloodboil Aromatic. But if you don’t like crafting, Flame, Grant Me Strength works perfectly too.
Because the Greatsword devours stamina like crazy, it’s essential to craft Pickled Turtle Necks to boost stamina regeneration. Trust me, you’ll need it for those long boss fights!

Gameplay Strategy
Before a boss fight, follow this buffing sequence:
- Use your Flask of Wondrous Physick.

- Cast Bloodboil Aromatic or Flame, Grant Me Strength.
- Top off HP and FP.
If you’re using the Stonebarb Cracked Tear, remember to drink your Flask right before the fight starts to maximize its effect duration.
Performance Against Bosses
In our no-hit run, we absolutely destroyed all base game bosses and many DLC bosses. Savage Lion’s Claw hits extremely hard, staggers bosses easily, and causes devastating double bleed procs in just a few swings.
Highlights included crazy battles where we stunned bosses mid-attack, chunked through massive HP bars with two bleed explosions, and juggled even late-game enemies like they were nothing.
